Vegan Food Group (VFG), a European plant-based food producer, has formed a partnership with Eat Just, the US food technology company behind JUST Egg.
Under the agreement, VFG has secured exclusive rights to manufacture and supply Eat Just’s proprietary mung bean plant-based egg across European markets, making it the sole producer in the region. Celebrated for its versatility, nutritional profile and taste, JUST Egg has become a leading plant-based liquid egg alternative in the US, with over 500 million egg equivalents sold since its 2019 launch.
To support the joint venture, VFG is investing an initial £5 million to create a fully automated production line dedicated to plant-based egg alternatives at its state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Lüneburg, Germany, the largest dedicated plant-based facility in Europe.
In addition, VFG is reinforcing its leadership in plant-based food innovation by committing a further £6.25 million across its UK and German manufacturing sites. This investment will significantly enhance automation capabilities, drive innovation and boost operational efficiencies, directly benefiting retail and food service partners through reduced waste, longer product shelf life and superior quality.

Commercial production of the plant-based egg range is expected to commence in the second half of 2025 from Lüneburg.
