Ghost Labs to remix the ready to drink category with new range of design-led canned cocktails

Ghost Labs, a new force disrupting the drinks industry, is launching in the UK with an innovative line of five design-led, remixed canned cocktails that are crystal clear, colourless and low calorie. The drinks are currently available across the UK from www.weareghostlabs.com, ZAPP and Selfridges.

Ghost Labs is the brainchild of a collective of creative minds spanning architecture, art, design, fashion, and music – united by a shared mission to tear up the rulebook and carve out a bold new space in the RTD category.

The creative board behind the brand includes founder Steve Smith (entrepreneur and designer, Ghost House) and Si Philby (Background co-founder and MD), alongside fellow industry leaders Ed Williams (Founder and CEO, Candy Kittens), Dan Flower (Former Global Managing Director, The Face Magazine), and Stu Holt (Founder and CEO, Javelin Block).

Having encountered these issues frequently in their respective fields, the team designed the range to address industry pain points like long bar queues and inconsistent pours at venues, festivals, and events. Unlike conventional RTDs, Ghost Labs places equal emphasis on aesthetics and flavour, serving up consistent remixed cocktails in a sleek, minimalist can.

Founder Steve Smith said: “Ghost Labs is made for those who appreciate innovation in both taste and design. Our cans aren’t just packaging – they’re designed to house unique liquids without any of the nonsense. From the can to the community we are building around it, we are remixing drinks, design and modern culture to create something that’s more than just a liquid.”

Board member Ed Williams (CEO and co-founder of Candy Kittens) said: “Ghost Labs is shaking up the drinks world in the same way Candy Kittens disrupted confectionery—bold design, rule-breaking creativity, and a fresh perspective that challenges the norm. It’s a brand that doesn’t just fit in; it deliberately stands out.”

Following a meticulous development process, the new style of beverage is clear, colourless, and low-calorie. The drinks have been developed by ex-Diageo drinks scientist Anthony Wilson alongside an award-winning chef – combining beverage science with culinary expertise to produce unique and unexpected flavour profiles and clarified liquids that defy the usual RTD category expectations.

Wilson, who spent more than 14 years creating world-class liquids with the Diageo Innovation R&D team, remixed each high-quality spirit – tequila, gin, whisky, rum and vodka – with fresh ingredients, natural flavours and sweeteners, botanical extracts, and bitters, adding carbonation for depth and texture.

Wilson said: “Using cutting-edge science, we break down the ingredients on a molecular level and rebuild them to create a final product that is completely clear while retaining its full flavour profile. This allows us to deliver bold taste without the visual expectation—think of coffee extracts without the colour but with all the depth of flavour – resulting in a truly unique, multi-sensory drinking experience that stays true to the Ghost Labs brand.”

Each 300ml can is vegan, gluten-free, 5% ABV, and 110 calories, designed to be enjoyed
ice-cold, straight from the can. Consumers can purchase individual six-packs or opt for a
tasting pack that includes all five flavours. Flavours include: Tequila / Grapefruit, Maple & Green Chilli; Gin / Grapefruit, Lychee & Cucumber; Whisky / Honey, Pear & Gingerbread; Rum / Coconut, Passionfruit & Vanilla; and Vodka / Espresso, Cascara cherry & Guarana.
