Lotus Bakeries has partnered with UK-based ice cream manufacturer Froneri to accelerate the growth of its Biscoff ice cream brand. The collaboration, announced this week, will see Froneri take over production, marketing, and sales of Biscoff ice cream in several European markets from 2026, with plans for further expansion.
Biscoff ice cream launched internationally in 2019 and has seen strong demand in the US, UK, and Europe. Lotus Bakeries aims to scale the brand globally by leveraging Froneri’s expertise in product development, distribution, and local production efficiencies.
The partnership is a sub-license under Lotus Bakeries’ existing agreement with Mondelez International, announced in June 2023. That deal focuses on expanding Biscoff cookies in India and launching chocolate products combining Biscoff with Mondelez brands such as Cadbury and Milka. Initial releases are expected in 2025.
Lotus Bakeries, which reported €1.23 billion (£1.05 billion) in revenue for 2024, operates production sites in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, South Africa, and the US, with a new facility in Thailand set to open in 2026.
