India’s traditional beverage, Goli Soda, is gaining traction in international markets, including the US, UK, Europe, and the Gulf. Rebranded as Goli Pop Soda, the drink is being marketed as a nostalgic yet innovative product to appeal to global consumers.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is driving this expansion. A key partnership with Fair Exports has secured distribution through Lulu Hypermarket, a major retail chain in the Gulf region. Trial shipments have also been sent to the US, UK, and Europe.
The official global launch took place on 4th February 2025, with APEDA supporting promotional efforts at the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) in London from 17th-19th March 2025. The event provided Indian exporters with a platform to connect with international buyers and explore new business opportunities.
Goli Pop Soda’s redesigned packaging, featuring a unique pop opener, has helped it stand out in competitive beverage markets. The Commerce Ministry sees its growing international demand as a sign that Indian homegrown flavours can compete globally, creating new export opportunities for the country’s food and beverage sector.
