BRCGS Food Safety Standard issue 9: are you audit ready every day? Teknomek hosts free expert webinar

On 21 November 2023, Teknomek will be hosting its first free Expert Partner webinar for customers and colleagues operating in the food production and processing sectors.

The webinar is entitled ‘understanding key BRC changes and creating an audit-ready food safety culture’ and is designed for anyone working in the food industry who needs to know about standards in food safety. It will look at the key changes in BRCGS Issue 9 and how to create a food safety culture that meets these requirements.

Starting at 10am and finishing at 11.30am, including 30 minutes for questions, the live event will feature two of the UK’s leading experts in food safety. Angela White is the managing director of Food Safety & Quality Ltd, a BRCGS approved training partner, and Nic Sharman, who was formerly food safety manager at M&S, is a director of Nic Sharman Consultancy Ltd.

The webinar will cover:

  • the key changes in BRC issue 9 and the key drivers for the latest update
  • the trends for non-conformances between issue 8 and issue 9
  • how to create a food safety culture that meets the issue 9 requirements
  • GSFI requirements
  • how to prepare for an audit of your food safety management processes and production areas.

“We live in an age of unannounced audits, where an unexpected visit from an auditor can lead to interruptions to production and, worst case scenario, the risk of extended technical review. So being ‘audit ready’ every day has to be a key priority for any professional working within the food industry,” says Michelle Locke, product and marketing manager at Teknomek, the UK’s leading supplier and manufacturer of hygienic furniture.

“We’ve devised this webinar to allow people to learn about the updates to the Food Safety Standard from front line auditors. These are people who really know their stuff and can help participants make practical and impactful changes to their processes to ensure they remain audit ready.”

“The webinar is the first of a planned programme of expert events,” continues Michelle Locke. “It is our knowledge and understanding of the issues that our customers face that enable us to add genuine value through the products we design and supply and the technical advice we provide.

“Our aim is for our knowledge hub to become an essential resource for people operating in environments where hygiene standards are critical. We’re also keen to hear from partners and customers about the topics they would like to learn more about and invite anyone to email us at marketing@teknomek.co.uk.”

The webinar is free to attend but places are limited. Places can be booked here.
