Study examines THC-infused beverages’ impact on alcohol consumption

A new study is set to explore how THC-infused drinks are influencing alcohol consumption, mood, and overall quality of life. MoreBetter, the data collection company behind the research, is seeking 2,000 participants who will provide daily feedback over three weeks about their consumption of both THC-infused drinks and alcohol, as well as self-assessments on their quality of life.

The market for THC-infused beverages, including seltzers and juices, is growing rapidly, with many new brands introducing products infused with regulated or hemp-based THC. Despite their increasing popularity, there has been limited research on the impact these drinks have on consumers.

The study will focus on various forms of THC-infused drinks, including canned seltzers, mixers, powder mixes, and shots. Participants must be over the age of 21 and must track their day-to-day experiences with the products provided by the study’s sponsoring brands.

The alcohol industry has seen a decline in sales as THC-infused beverages gain popularity. Major alcohol distributors, such as Total Wine & More, already offer these products alongside traditional alcoholic beverages. With this study, industry leaders aim to understand consumer habits and any perceived wellness benefits resulting from THC-infused drink consumption.

The findings are expected to provide valuable insights into how these products are shaping social habits and whether they are enhancing quality of life.
