Brevel Ltd. and Central Bottling Co. (CBC Group) have formed a partnership to develop functional beverages and dairy alternatives using Brevel’s microalgae-based protein and oils. CBC Group, Israel’s largest beverage company and the franchiser of Coca-Cola, Carlsberg, and Muller, has also invested nearly $20 million in Brevel’s latest seed-funding round.
Brevel produces a neutral-tasting microalgae protein concentrate with up to 70% protein content by combining light and sugar fermentation in indoor reactors. The ingredient serves as a plant-based protein booster for meat and dairy alternatives.
The collaboration aligns with growing consumer demand for high-protein and functional beverages, positioning both companies to expand into new product categories across CBC’s markets in Eastern Europe, South Africa, and the MENA region.
