Metal detection is an inspection delight for rapid growth food brand

HazerBaba, a Turkey-based food and beverage company, has strengthened its commitment to ensuring food safety and quality with its investment in a Loma Systems’ IQ3 Metal Detector Conveyor.

Over the years, the company has become the most well-known Turkish brand in more than 40 countries, producing the majority of all Turkish Delight exports in the world. They currently supply leading global retailers such as Fortnum & Mason.

HazerBaba required a new inspection solution to support its rapid manufacturing growth. Currently using an older generation Loma metal detector, the company decided to invest in a newer system as their Critical Control Point (CCP), to further improve production volumes and excel in meeting stringent regulatory requirements.

To maintain their high standards, LOMA recommended their IQ3 Metal Detector Conveyor, designed to inspect both packaged and loose products, thereby achieving the highest levels of compliance.

The metal detector offers excellent detection capabilities for metal contaminants and is rated IP66 for safe cleaning. Its dual-line screen and keypad display make it easy to operate, while the Auto-Learn function enables quick product set-up. The variable frequency technology ensures the best detection properties, even when packaging includes metallized film, increasing overall equipment effectiveness and adherence to quality certifications. The easy-to-use detector is ideal for inspecting retail packaged and unpackaged foods and storing multiple product credentials, thereby increasing the speed of product changeovers.

“In supplying quality retailers worldwide, our brand is world-leading with quality and safety top of our agenda in all we do. We are one of the few Turkish businesses with both ISO 9001:2015 and 22000:2005 quality certificates,” said Ms Ayse Saglam, export manager at HazerBaba.

“We have worked hard to establish an excellent reputation, and the installation of our new inspection system has enabled us to further protect our expanding business with improved detection. Having worked with LOMA before, once again we are not disappointed.”
